<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you are a creative person, you shouldn't have a boring business card. Here is how I made mine : </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 1 : Choose your support ( I used black cardboard ) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Note : Black cardboard will turn brown when carved</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 2 : Draw your design on Illustrator or Autocad</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 3 : Use colors (or layers) to determine what you want to cut and what you want to engrave</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 4 : Set the laser cutter</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Step 5 : Ad something unique (the backside of my card is made of sandpaper grid 150) It can be used for improvised DIY project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

1- APPLY<br />
<br />
Apply a first layer of varnish on the candies. Let them dry on the wax paper during 30 minutes. Repeat 3 to 6 times until the layer is about 1mm thick. This process can take several hours... so do it while watching a movie.<br />

2- EPOXY<br />
<br />
Squeeze a little bit of glue from both syringe on a clean surface. The mix have to be 50-50 (the same quantity of both liquids).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZH0OtpNkdJi38AN2BgOqbypie9wU_sZWSuFLew1VmhvfQWRMIvr7KPIkCBavblZdsoVILJ-9psapfW1gzFkDytUPf_iw9C9tXnIMPAbILp1w6NI-HVKHOJ6GA0Gc8pnZsvbL94urktei/s1600/DSC_1318.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZH0OtpNkdJi38AN2BgOqbypie9wU_sZWSuFLew1VmhvfQWRMIvr7KPIkCBavblZdsoVILJ-9psapfW1gzFkDytUPf_iw9C9tXnIMPAbILp1w6NI-HVKHOJ6GA0Gc8pnZsvbL94urktei/s320/DSC_1318.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
3- MIX<br />
<br />
Use a stick to merge the epoxy mix. Make sure to have a uniform substance. If you have a 5 minutes epoxy, you will have to apply it fast because it will soon become very hard.<br />

<br />
4- GLUE<br />
<br />
Use the tip of the stick to glue the candy to the original jewel. Some soft candies like Gummy Bears can be entirely covered with epoxy to protect them.<br />

<br />
<span lang="EN-US" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; line-height: 115%;"><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">There is weird a phenomenon
happening in my <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">kitchen
drawer</span>. Somehow, <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">every
single item from my flatware is different from the next</span>. I have to say
that I don't remember ever buying a table set. Forks, spoons and <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">knives</span> were given <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">to me</span> by family <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">members</span> or friends <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">after</span> moving out of my
parent<span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">s’</span> place
years ago. <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">Many of these
utensils</span> probably come from the high school cafeteria where I used to
borrow <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">them</span> to eat
my lunch and <span style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial;">would forget</span>
to bring back. I would like, for once, to own one of these nice table sets that
you use when mom and dad come for diner.</span></span>
<br />
<br />
I also own an incredible amount of screw drivers. I have to say that I love buying tools. The problem is that I also bought two multi-bit screwdrivers, two electric drills and a Dremel... I don't need my old tools anymore. Also, since they were bad quality, the Philips head all got stripped and I only use the flat ones to open paint cans.<br />
<br />
Here's how to merge two problems into one cool solution. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYqhnNLbgcY2ddHp4F327bY-vO9l2maeVfMl0BlJfz2l9Ze1Z3RVyYscOSooRhCEM9QR1v0qAphSEchUZKtEPvYzRvb546EbXdd3HUOr00QsM6Rc7npvEV9OWDLkXCJ6lgjPNcjiDlr0l/s1600/couverts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVlOs9AH1l0zhEXGNTsLqgXE_yeGiMZt0jCHZQRkh0kUpni89oX-jUPnVU9QqJqvfjzDwqICD2WUtkp2XMe6Ho_y2tZ2aUiKM4Y882zEzVjPq7t9nH2h7LbvxvOnP5MYxqQoTweSjI2RXe/s1600/red+fork.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="158" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVlOs9AH1l0zhEXGNTsLqgXE_yeGiMZt0jCHZQRkh0kUpni89oX-jUPnVU9QqJqvfjzDwqICD2WUtkp2XMe6Ho_y2tZ2aUiKM4Y882zEzVjPq7t9nH2h7LbvxvOnP5MYxqQoTweSjI2RXe/s640/red+fork.jpg" width="640" /></a>YOU WILL NEED :<br />
<br />
- Acrylic handle screwdrivers<br />
- An old table set<br />
- A metal saw<br />
- A heat gun<br />
- A clamp<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYqhnNLbgcY2ddHp4F327bY-vO9l2maeVfMl0BlJfz2l9Ze1Z3RVyYscOSooRhCEM9QR1v0qAphSEchUZKtEPvYzRvb546EbXdd3HUOr00QsM6Rc7npvEV9OWDLkXCJ6lgjPNcjiDlr0l/s1600/couverts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYqhnNLbgcY2ddHp4F327bY-vO9l2maeVfMl0BlJfz2l9Ze1Z3RVyYscOSooRhCEM9QR1v0qAphSEchUZKtEPvYzRvb546EbXdd3HUOr00QsM6Rc7npvEV9OWDLkXCJ6lgjPNcjiDlr0l/s640/couverts.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />

<br />
The first step is to heat the metal part of the screwdriver. Make sure the air doesn't get on the plastic handle because it will melt like ice. It should take about 30 seconds on full power.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2-JSNd8c7qddyu0Bu-WLbxKgGKKcaWc0giDPHfX6-rvl6PSWpwFjwiHyQkVqapxd1Ee6ZGbou_8BUpO0f0zzJX8ZGcGeasBTsgtPl1TjWw_RA0XEJgROQ-en9lsWj_znufkxTm2se38J/s1600/DSC_0848.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs2-JSNd8c7qddyu0Bu-WLbxKgGKKcaWc0giDPHfX6-rvl6PSWpwFjwiHyQkVqapxd1Ee6ZGbou_8BUpO0f0zzJX8ZGcGeasBTsgtPl1TjWw_RA0XEJgROQ-en9lsWj_znufkxTm2se38J/s320/DSC_0848.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
2- PULL<br />
<br />
Squeeze the metal part in a clamp and pull on the handle using gloves. My little sister could do it.<br />
This is actually the same process as the manufactured one... but a bit more manual.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvENm9FRZwCWv1vGAi58jdHH9SnDQfVFXWaRLlfjv2OrioS4VRu21NBV8ND_DjuP2H-PAL9CtqHVIf2CIlZwNggIbybYglXXk6m4LIeFMlGrSdNbIPK_eOQdRLg1Tq2LdTt7uduehrHXQW/s1600/DSC_0851.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvENm9FRZwCWv1vGAi58jdHH9SnDQfVFXWaRLlfjv2OrioS4VRu21NBV8ND_DjuP2H-PAL9CtqHVIf2CIlZwNggIbybYglXXk6m4LIeFMlGrSdNbIPK_eOQdRLg1Tq2LdTt7uduehrHXQW/s320/DSC_0851.JPG" width="320" /><span style="text-align: left;"> </span></a></div>
3- REPEAT<br />
<br />
Repeat step 1 and 2 for all unwanted tools.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIOKUyPBoCe7ikG2jmg4HQ4_T4mk-7msxBi2HieDM11vh3_H65W6HrkhG5O3LaMp4J2wLXEL3VMbgx2cEJ0cEGFufT3AyT14nCHFqf6Fl7eY-R-tcG9VXQPv8sYwgrNf5NcjYmO6Fz-0qI/s1600/DSC_0116.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIOKUyPBoCe7ikG2jmg4HQ4_T4mk-7msxBi2HieDM11vh3_H65W6HrkhG5O3LaMp4J2wLXEL3VMbgx2cEJ0cEGFufT3AyT14nCHFqf6Fl7eY-R-tcG9VXQPv8sYwgrNf5NcjYmO6Fz-0qI/s320/DSC_0116.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

4- MARK<br />
<br />
Use a Sharpie marker to indicate where you'll have to cut the flatware.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
5- CUT<br />
<br />
You can use a steel cutters, a metal saw, a buffer, a band saw... or whatever you have that can cut steel.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkNXyP0TZ51fAHhghaKbNgwbETCAJpPhCaH_cSdWL5m-etPOECOA_4-zuPoXbr_2hn6gwKbckHAKGLvzTN0c7n35O3R8QlPodncpVEb5aZ0feXWquLM7NdUMzE8FHde6LOCgh5j-46SxUv/s1600/DSC_0106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkNXyP0TZ51fAHhghaKbNgwbETCAJpPhCaH_cSdWL5m-etPOECOA_4-zuPoXbr_2hn6gwKbckHAKGLvzTN0c7n35O3R8QlPodncpVEb5aZ0feXWquLM7NdUMzE8FHde6LOCgh5j-46SxUv/s320/DSC_0106.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

6- GRIND<br />
<br />
Sand down the excess steel. The flatware handle should be about 2 mm larger than the hole in the acrylic handle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtQvWTjfEDRjre51eYu6WLXSKkpfeiX50r85mGhjQS34wUj0Rb9RUcArYV5gDDzbvq4_9oBuKBH54psPGNIeFxKAf0F5Afvm2o-NK8WTP5sQsa_WyzVuAW-uyyxc9d9slztxgvXQy30tTq/s1600/DSC_0146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtQvWTjfEDRjre51eYu6WLXSKkpfeiX50r85mGhjQS34wUj0Rb9RUcArYV5gDDzbvq4_9oBuKBH54psPGNIeFxKAf0F5Afvm2o-NK8WTP5sQsa_WyzVuAW-uyyxc9d9slztxgvXQy30tTq/s320/DSC_0146.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
7- HEAT<br />
<br />
Use a heat gun or put the flatware in the oven at 300 degrees (no microwave...duh). It should take about 1 minute with the heat gun. Use glove because it's HOT. Be careful not to leave it for too long because the flatware might turn brown and get stained by impurities.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS57tChHheckmNjiQSILlHLwr5tAZ6QgzVVLoRKs5tPymPWuhtnnG-zgxROXDkpdKAECc2puAUcDWX6B4ryDF8sDNqCN6H0tgF-ShbRJbbaoyDlg4lPx_TvX7Yf4JgvNBuZXMdk9tIuMPf/s1600/DSC_0178.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS57tChHheckmNjiQSILlHLwr5tAZ6QgzVVLoRKs5tPymPWuhtnnG-zgxROXDkpdKAECc2puAUcDWX6B4ryDF8sDNqCN6H0tgF-ShbRJbbaoyDlg4lPx_TvX7Yf4JgvNBuZXMdk9tIuMPf/s320/DSC_0178.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
8- INSERT<br />
<br />
While still hot, insert the flatware in the proper handle. Don't breathe the fumes of the acrylic melting or you'll have a big headache. Let everything cool and harden for 30 minutes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3FSJRIhntfjrkDmPdUQzVkVfa21dYsI-fSDLe0rahdBxcCz5dct4MXlT6_O1L9rHZaLCVwSbfNgAErtNaexyMwfA_P9Ag8emKD2Y77wLfPHSC-eUAbrnagjH0PNobJ7UAobGIpeoGEw00/s1600/DSC_0195.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3FSJRIhntfjrkDmPdUQzVkVfa21dYsI-fSDLe0rahdBxcCz5dct4MXlT6_O1L9rHZaLCVwSbfNgAErtNaexyMwfA_P9Ag8emKD2Y77wLfPHSC-eUAbrnagjH0PNobJ7UAobGIpeoGEw00/s320/DSC_0195.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
9- FILL<br />
<br />
I used <a href="http://sugru.com/">SU<span id="goog_650472929"></span><span id="goog_650472930"></span>GRU</a> to fill the holes left in the handle. Sugru is a kind of silicone paste that hardens in a few hours to leave you the time to do a clean job. It also comes in different colors. If you are experimented with epoxy, this would also do a great finish.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi30mN4N-HeNNHm0XM_RysWp7u18-SDtk9WaUQSKKye5i8-UJ1DgDjm6xs01vltojFZIm8L512JRrxk-No8dznbUPkEs51Wb6wV_jifq_JKH7Ye0kCcWhbOw3RDwzepL6n0946Y2sB8yE7Q/s1600/DSC_0187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi30mN4N-HeNNHm0XM_RysWp7u18-SDtk9WaUQSKKye5i8-UJ1DgDjm6xs01vltojFZIm8L512JRrxk-No8dznbUPkEs51Wb6wV_jifq_JKH7Ye0kCcWhbOw3RDwzepL6n0946Y2sB8yE7Q/s320/DSC_0187.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
10 - DONE<br />
<br />
Congratulations, you've just made your own handyman place setting. Remember that acrylic won't survive to the dishwasher. It's better to wash these utensils manually. </div>Samuel N. My mom gave me a broken shovel that couldn't be fixed. Somehow, it broke right in the middle of the steel blade. Even the best welder on earth couldn't bring it back to life. Even for recycling, this object was tricky to disassemble because of the rivets used to keep everything together. There was no way I was going to throw away such a beautiful object. Here is how a piece of junk became a 120 $ lamp.<br />

1- CLEAN<br />
<br />
Use grid 80 sandpaper to remove every rust and dirt from the shovel. Try to remove most of the paint. If you have a sandblast machine... you'll save a lot of time.<br />

2- THE PLATE<br />
<br />
I can't really give you specific dimensions for the metal plate holding the light socket since most shovels are different. Basically, all you will need to do is punch a hole, 4.5 cm wide, in the steel foil and cut a V-shape to fit the shovel's shape. Bend the end of the V to create a surface that will help you stick or weld the two parts together.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
3- CHECK UP AND PAINT<br />
<br />
Make sure all the components fit together. Screw the socket on the plate and make sure the light bulb doesn't touch the metal. If everything works fine, remove the socket and paint everything with heat resistant paint (BBQ paint).<br />
<br />

Since almost three years now, I've been eating lunch at school using the same disposable fork. This plastic flatware people use like toilet paper is actually quite sustainable when used for a long period of time. While I keep my little polystyrene fork in my school bag, I notice that most students' desks are filled with dirty plastic spoons, plates, coffee cups and more forks. (Design education...)<br />
I had to create a clock for an<span style="background-color: white;"> <span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span lang="EN-US" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; line-height: 115%;">auction benefiting students in industrial design</span></span></span>. I only had to look on five different tables to get what I needed.<br />

1- FIND AND CLEAN<br />
<br />
Once you've collected all the used spoons and forks, use a little bit of water and soap to remove any residue of food. The paint won't last on anything greasy.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkbmwN-Pi24cYR1tShUIB27eqlMoiuwgdXbIccDSgSC0ANkTZnxom2CIF9j2rt-FdFdX24oyBDPr30wOzKpg4ArbWVuBW5RVdU0uaW9T34E5S9RjEiNsp09BVU9Gg6Zj2BCuCexMHTayPb/s1600/DSC_1151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkbmwN-Pi24cYR1tShUIB27eqlMoiuwgdXbIccDSgSC0ANkTZnxom2CIF9j2rt-FdFdX24oyBDPr30wOzKpg4ArbWVuBW5RVdU0uaW9T34E5S9RjEiNsp09BVU9Gg6Zj2BCuCexMHTayPb/s320/DSC_1151.JPG" style="cursor: move;" width="320" /></a></div>
2- CORE<br />
<br />
Trace a circle on the polystyrene sheet and mark its center. Use a pair of compasses or a circular object. Your circle should have a diameter of 12 cm. Then use a cutter, scissors of a band saw to remove the excess plastic.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVFAr6qJAVazksBS5bc032QxU0GO_QLYRCMIcwWO0dTTb2bKGkO0Hf-NQ9YOJBsbIsH6l1Obntv6XH_uVUiiSNBAF9E099YEHbf_F41zDmSwg019FM-MyIgtQTV1aM4Mi7EqMa5ij5eUEl/s1600/DSC_1152.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVFAr6qJAVazksBS5bc032QxU0GO_QLYRCMIcwWO0dTTb2bKGkO0Hf-NQ9YOJBsbIsH6l1Obntv6XH_uVUiiSNBAF9E099YEHbf_F41zDmSwg019FM-MyIgtQTV1aM4Mi7EqMa5ij5eUEl/s320/DSC_1152.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
3- DRILL<br />
<br />
Use a 1/4 drill to make the hole in the center of the circle.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5kSMuC-aAVQeGV_lxCS29ragLv7TX-H1k9FGkAJVn4Bz5HoAq4QhYG1RuQiawIfmJQeY2QFXGzu0TeMVA24vWAkpDAy4MM2u9iPUIcOAOxbKeo8HenVkG0nWl4V-GOwuVa1WWo5L8IzzI/s1600/DSC_1155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5kSMuC-aAVQeGV_lxCS29ragLv7TX-H1k9FGkAJVn4Bz5HoAq4QhYG1RuQiawIfmJQeY2QFXGzu0TeMVA24vWAkpDAy4MM2u9iPUIcOAOxbKeo8HenVkG0nWl4V-GOwuVa1WWo5L8IzzI/s320/DSC_1155.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
4- GLUE<br />
<br />
Apply super strong glue to the base of the disposable flatware and stick them around the circle. Keep enough space for the mechanism. You will have to stick it too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihjNpUgv0FFmGxTylnE2w2Vj0WopT7UbO226PxsH4V_BgDGo9WQ1tgvuiGUPp_2Eo1-6BSnIs2fOL10VwCWYOQBJIla0qIg9Z8ikREusJDE4SJi2-lwxecmM_HDZOfZZ4R0rdlFnD2gCyG/s1600/DSC_0182.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihjNpUgv0FFmGxTylnE2w2Vj0WopT7UbO226PxsH4V_BgDGo9WQ1tgvuiGUPp_2Eo1-6BSnIs2fOL10VwCWYOQBJIla0qIg9Z8ikREusJDE4SJi2-lwxecmM_HDZOfZZ4R0rdlFnD2gCyG/s400/DSC_0182.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />
5- DRY AND PAINT<br />
<br />
Once everything is glued, you can start painting the clock. Make sure not to put paint in the battery compartment. You may want to add a little ring or hook on the back of the mechanism to help you hang it on the wall. Now, install the clock's hands, put on a battery and set the time. Project finished.<br />

<br />
Jerrycans are beautiful. Their shape is functional and iconic.<br />
With the price of the fuel being so high, you can't afford to have a leak in your container. If it's the case, here is a simple idea that could interest you. Walking home a few days ago, I found an old set of speakers in my neighboor's trash can. (You know, these brown boxes that nobody uses anymore because today's technology offers much better sound quality.) I didn't know if they worked but I still took them. I smashed the case with a hammer (NOT the best way to get inside), and I unscrewed the speakers from the box.<br />
<br />
Warning for music purists: The sound coming out from these speakers won't be HD quality... Jerrycans sound like Jerrycans. It's more a kind of party accessory.<br />

<br />
YOU WILL NEED :<br />
<br />
- A pair of stereo speakers<br />
- Speaker wires<br />
- 8 screws (the type will depend of the speakers you've got<br />
- 2 EMPTY AND CLEAN Jerrycans (or similar objects)<br />
- Polyester fill<br />
- Amplifier<br />
<br />

1- FIND SPEAKERS<br />
<br />
Once you found old speakers, get inside the box to remove the parts you need. Try not to brake the membrane.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeHaL3thww3gwHlDn1I-s1nLJaPAwyj81texEE-tiN3zXHOGkKJ-GY1fZMCABHhKyvjWGpR7VdkRpM39106Ba1HZdZAC8fj2EBfVKNvsv2csIeJD6szS4ml_7mnqa2hzZoclSn4wqZ15Uv/s1600/DSC_0835.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeHaL3thww3gwHlDn1I-s1nLJaPAwyj81texEE-tiN3zXHOGkKJ-GY1fZMCABHhKyvjWGpR7VdkRpM39106Ba1HZdZAC8fj2EBfVKNvsv2csIeJD6szS4ml_7mnqa2hzZoclSn4wqZ15Uv/s320/DSC_0835.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
2- MESURE<br />
<br />
Find the diameter of the speakers' inner part. Use a caliper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghb1UoaWLgXgGuat7K7177bmaNcosFmVs9NNchWXWwIU77EA9C7wwIqtL41zIOcbDMnUndS_HBPCEvoX_TEA22UPocsswVrqDKuCGUhnbujf30hKep59wtRxgYghd8GpxqXT_CoMzlmnIT/s1600/DSC_0842.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghb1UoaWLgXgGuat7K7177bmaNcosFmVs9NNchWXWwIU77EA9C7wwIqtL41zIOcbDMnUndS_HBPCEvoX_TEA22UPocsswVrqDKuCGUhnbujf30hKep59wtRxgYghd8GpxqXT_CoMzlmnIT/s320/DSC_0842.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
3- TRACE THE CIRCLE<br />
<br />
You can use a pair of compasses or make a paper template to trace the exact diameter on the Jerrycan's body. Use a big black marker.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpyjhJhjoMAlg_LHdNM6m_-vEaekToiLreM9njWfZK9O-a4d0iIKCw7FFPWD9PAik9JC5GjJD9CcrqmixEm-BnsOu56d2i9KL5soLa8rWPe5HhvJZz6YYbeH9fWxSOZevVz9BbMpd-GIDC/s1600/DSC_0849.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpyjhJhjoMAlg_LHdNM6m_-vEaekToiLreM9njWfZK9O-a4d0iIKCw7FFPWD9PAik9JC5GjJD9CcrqmixEm-BnsOu56d2i9KL5soLa8rWPe5HhvJZz6YYbeH9fWxSOZevVz9BbMpd-GIDC/s320/DSC_0849.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
4- DRILL<br />
<br />
Make a hole large enough to let your cutting tool go trough the plastic.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQjXzyC82yS2-_Khu01qhHmUrr-ZfZxDsSjPRhHjRX9iAubHoi9ru1C6j_heaBD_xL6Uq6hkUQ6yGzUHn2uZOqLFceZAoPnmlwx5k2gBhuY4K73776b-5DV-qkf-8e5reBcECy_K5Q1EpF/s1600/DSC_0853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQjXzyC82yS2-_Khu01qhHmUrr-ZfZxDsSjPRhHjRX9iAubHoi9ru1C6j_heaBD_xL6Uq6hkUQ6yGzUHn2uZOqLFceZAoPnmlwx5k2gBhuY4K73776b-5DV-qkf-8e5reBcECy_K5Q1EpF/s320/DSC_0853.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
5- CUT<br />
<br />
Use a jigsaw to cut a hole in the can. Follow the circle traced on step 3. Make sure the hole is smaller than the overall speaker's diameter.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXMAZ2Qgu2EGIOG79xBNQV7kBxWlpI64AjU-4a4mQNSluZHtNf0Z-Ao3QK0Zk3QTZANI7RY0paq0tyDb1fkSNTOhUyOFMoj_nDW4yG2djYR3Z55BatfI-4zcS6C2KJEKhxolsgInXhpfSq/s1600/DSC_0867.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXMAZ2Qgu2EGIOG79xBNQV7kBxWlpI64AjU-4a4mQNSluZHtNf0Z-Ao3QK0Zk3QTZANI7RY0paq0tyDb1fkSNTOhUyOFMoj_nDW4yG2djYR3Z55BatfI-4zcS6C2KJEKhxolsgInXhpfSq/s320/DSC_0867.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
6- POINT<br />
<br />
Place the speaker in the hole and mark the screw holes with the tip of a drill or a pen.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
7- SCREW HOLES<br />
<br />
Use a drill to prepare holes for the screws. The drill diameter should be about 7/64 inch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc6OA6aJsYNNdkzF3SkJWM7Ocjd4DhUan4RiZw5N14PrZQCvaC4XZmG0gf20RYFy6eHLkH7bMa5gMgW83IZsQNRxgftxqML5QLYW-6oKcFFPrv9CNeTTJIE_mvVCmXr6H0fO18F7El4Qdn/s1600/DSC_0865.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc6OA6aJsYNNdkzF3SkJWM7Ocjd4DhUan4RiZw5N14PrZQCvaC4XZmG0gf20RYFy6eHLkH7bMa5gMgW83IZsQNRxgftxqML5QLYW-6oKcFFPrv9CNeTTJIE_mvVCmXr6H0fO18F7El4Qdn/s320/DSC_0865.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
8- PASS THE WIRES</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Use the air holes on top of the can to pass the coper wires trough the can.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj88Ax9RiCitwZ588TUrO0k5s0crEbwo_UD6qwwMLN3_DccL8StBWAL0tx2FXhmYtfrtmjucCJTZnQk9CqbbpFGEjKAQhtckfKsNCPhlKOZh1Fm92IkrciCT_VusJxQjpLItgkVV3W49Erf/s1600/DSC_0876.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj88Ax9RiCitwZ588TUrO0k5s0crEbwo_UD6qwwMLN3_DccL8StBWAL0tx2FXhmYtfrtmjucCJTZnQk9CqbbpFGEjKAQhtckfKsNCPhlKOZh1Fm92IkrciCT_VusJxQjpLItgkVV3W49Erf/s320/DSC_0876.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
9- WIRE</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sincerely, I can't help you much on how to connect the speakers together. I only followed my instinct and it worked. Some Instructables projects explain how to do it properly. Here's a link : </div>

10- FILL<br />
<br />
Use polyester fill to insulate the can to limit vibrations.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
11- SCREW THEM<br />
<br />
Just screw the speakers onto the Jerrycan.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
12- PLUG<br />
<br />
Plug the speakers to an amplifier and put some music on.<br />
Try some classics like :<br />
<br />
The DOORS - Light my fire<br />
Daddy Yanke - Gazolina<br />
Hendrix - Fire<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
13- CLONES<br />
<br />

My younger sister is 14 years old and it's getting quite difficult to find her a good Christmas present. One thing I am sure to know about her is that she loves basketball. I used to give her some tips and now she is better than I ever was. This project is dedicated to Emy.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: -webkit-auto;">
Here's how to turn a punctured basketball into a cool sports bag. A basketball is just big enough to fit the necessary items for a game : t-shirt, shorts, water bottle and socks<span style="color: #333333;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">. </span><span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Here is a step by step solution for a cheap and original use for your old game balls.</span></span></span></div>

<br />
As a designer, I use a big quantity of drawing pencils every year. I never know what to do with them when they get to small so they stay in my pencil case (wich soon looks pregnant). For me, rule number one in design drawing is « Never use an eraser ». Small mistakes can bring big ideas. For this reason, the little pink rubber at the end of my pencils never get the chance to be used. Determined not to trow them away, I came with this idea of a dish rack. I've been using it for months now and I can say that I am quite satisfied so here is the step by step :<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
1- You will need to start drawing a lot or find somebody who does. Any wooden pencil with an eraser at the end will do the job. If you are the type of person who chews the tip their pencils... this project might not be for you.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhxKO5gBPr731I1DLxdSUke68VPNZmiRAD0E4EmTyzKdZPcasNlWlRUBgKUAOQzEu5BpaT3FPP8OauQoExSgB0014rB7EjON2JJBd6TRmJSoiiXOOcC8AnaLtS9dfhuB7kd4l14uio8Bgq/s1600/cut.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhxKO5gBPr731I1DLxdSUke68VPNZmiRAD0E4EmTyzKdZPcasNlWlRUBgKUAOQzEu5BpaT3FPP8OauQoExSgB0014rB7EjON2JJBd6TRmJSoiiXOOcC8AnaLtS9dfhuB7kd4l14uio8Bgq/s320/cut.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
2- Cut all the pencil tips to the same length. If you cut them too long, your plates wont fit and if you cut them too short be careful with your fingers. I suggest a length of six centimeters. You can use manual saw or band saw and put a mask because the core of the pencil is lead based.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

3- Once you have enough pencils (more than 30), find a good support. I used a wooden cutting board because it is cheap, easy to drill and looks good.<br />

4- I printed a drilling template to make sure every hole was equally distant. I used a size 1/4 wood drill for 1,5 cm deep holes. Depending on the thickness of your plates, the distance between each hole should be between 3 cm and 6 cm.<br />

5- Depending on the pens you used, you might have to adjust the holes. You should be able to insert the pencils in the board manually. One little truck is to use a sharpener to cut the edge of the pencil tips. This will make the insertion way easier.<br />

When you work, it's important to be organized. You don't want to spend time looking for an eraser or a particular pen.
<span style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span lang="EN-US" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: white; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; line-height: 115%;">There’s nothing more frustrating
than forgetting an idea while looking for a damn pencil</span>. </span>What could be better than a brume to keep your desk clean? To draw design concepts, I use those fat markers called TRIA and I have a lot of different colors. This little trick keeps them close and visible at all time while I'm sketching.</div>

The idea is simple : Get a brush (10$-15$), unscrew the head and put your stuff in it. It works incredibly well. Notes, CDs, ruler... almost everything fits.<br />
Keep the wooden stick for later... we'll find something to do with it.<br />

My parent's cabin does not have drinkable tap water, so we use a lot of water bottles, juice bottles and all kind of bottles (my father prefers beer bottles). There is also no recycling system in this area, so we have to bring all these containers back home. I found a way to reuse them (using only my father's tool box) by turning them into a useful, good looking and entertaining buoy for the lake. They can be used as seats for exhausted swimmers, anchor for your kayak or rock warning... It is also really fun to <b>try</b> to run on them like in a Japanese game show...</div>
